Can We Believe Everything Social Media Telling US ?

False information can spread more faster than real information. In the past few years peoples ratio increase for spreading false information through social media, there is no role of robots in it. Here in this post, I am discussing how people use false information for different roles such as an advertisement, to increase their page audience ratio, to turn fake stories into real one. While working on my social media experiment, I saw a lot of marketing people using the hashtag strategy to increase the volume of the daily views on their products.

Advertisers try to become clever and they try to find new ways to impact the markets. Twitter "hashtag hijacking" is one of its examples. They even don't have any idea what the background of the trending hashtag but they use all the trending hashtag to make sure they can divert the attention of more and more people towards their products. EvevsLiv (Everton vs Liverpool) its derby game held on this Sunday and advertisers with Lipstick brands using that hashtag for the promotion. Football fans have nothing to do with the lipstick but hashtag strategy let them check why it is mention.

Facebook become one of the largest platforms for sharing information. Advertisers ruling and making it worse for the business and people who use to see the product reviews. Sometimes advertisers use the same brand look like the picture on the business page and decrease the price of the brand. Some blogger using fake statistics about to make their content looks good and share it on Facebook and it totally works for them and their page audience reached from 500-20,000 in just 5-10 days. What you get online is completely different from what you get it from offline stores you cannot judge if you are purchasing things after seeing a review on social media.

I am in Pakistan studying my master's course so I saw a post by a news website "ABC News Point" "Fox News Point" which become the headline of all media channels. The post is about "top 10 most powerful intelligence agencies" they ranked Pakistan spy agency at the 1st spot and without any information and research who posted what are sources the news become viral on social media and later all news channel make a report on it and made a story on it telecast on their channel.

How a simple news site become so popular on all media channels in Pakistan. It is a total misunderstanding the news channel and some reporters web desk thought that this survey comes from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC News) and Fox News but actually, it just looks like website domain name (ABC News Point) and (Fox News Point).
